"Fighting a Winning Battle
The message of God's Word to the church is, 'Be a people firmly established, grounded in place, and holding our ground.' True faith will always bring action and not anxiety; rest and not struggle; a pressing, without pressure; a declaration, not a demand. It's liberating, not limiting, to take a position of confident rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Ephesians 6:13,14 says, 'Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done that, to stand. Stand before...' It's scriptural to feel the heat of battle without experiencing destruction or harm (Romans 8:37).
It sounds easy, but don't assume that taking a stand is always the easiest posture. It requires a settled peace and rest. When the heat of the battle is increased, your flesh may holler or run in fear. It's then we get to fall on the Rock, Jesus Christ.
Labor and wrestling won't be without some resistance, but listen to the rewards:
1. It involves Destiny (Philippians 2:12); There is purpose, maturity, and blessing being produced.
2. It involves Companionship (Philippians 2:25); God will always see to it that someone touches you during those times.
3. It involves Risk (Philippians 2:30); It won't be without your willingness to risk everything that you are and have.
When standing toe to toe with your Goliath, let the name of Jesus stir confidence in you. He has given the instrument of His name as the badge of authority and the signature, security, and guarantee that all things will be accomplished as He has said. Battles are frightening when fought on your own. Jesus said, 'I will not leave you comfortless. I will come to you,' John 14:18.
We're not called to exist or vegetate on past experiences, but are offered a continual flow of fresh blessing and promise. He has offered us a liberty when we stand in faith, unshakeable in His name.
It's in these days of blessing and destiny that I'm learning to employ the Name of Jesus. Knowing that, we won't fall or crumble under the weight of the struggle and pressure, but will rise to a new dimension of growth and trust in our Lord.
Ephesians 6:10 - 'Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.'
