"GOD IS LOVE
In a world that is starved for love, it doesn't take one long to recognize that the reason for the frustrated going-around-in-circles of [people] is an inner drive to fulfill the need to be loved. You will often hear me say that love is never the basis for marriage; it is the will of God. If love is present, God's will isn't always present. But if the will of God is the basis for a marriage relationship, then love will always be present.
Whenever there is an absence of of God's will in people's relationships, you will witness a search for a
quantity of love rather than the
quality of love God ordained. Nothing will drive a person to a state of spiritual dizziness or imbalance quicker. You may have experienced the kind of love the world offers, but it never really ministers to the real need in you. The world's kind of love was never designed to bring about fulfillment, but to thrust people into a
never-ending search for real love and satisfaction. I think that's why the basic theme of most soap operas is,
'Don't be satisfied with what you have. What you have is nice, but there's always someone else.' That's the principle of free love: its basis is lust, yet the world calls it true love.
Well, we find ourselves submerged in the one quality that the world says makes things happen. Love. Colossians 1:17 - 'And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.' God is love, and while He creates love, he also maintains things in stability and productiveness. He is committed to keep you moving within the circle of His love.
It's such a good feeling to no longer go in circles in search of love; we have found Him - His name is Jesus. It is the quality of God's love that we now share together, but it is the quantity of it that we are now learning is available.
May our lives be a witness to the world, that they can cease from their dizzy, endless seach for love, found in the gift of Jesus. That's God's will for the world.
